About Us

The Mat-Su Minuteman Cadet Squadron has opportunities for people from ages 12 & up.

Our cadets have a structured program with opportunities for leadership, and activities that bring together youth from across Alaska, the US, and around the world. Friends made in CAP are made for life.

Our adult members are privileged to wear the same grade as the US Air Force, our parent service. We use military rank and structure to organize ourselves to accomplish missions for America. Our Sergeants and Officers become trained and equipped to be able to respond to events like:

  • Supporting disaster relief missions in Bush Alaska,
  • Responding to calls for assistance during disasters in the Gulf of Mexico,
  • Conducting training in communications or information management anywhere in the US, and
  • Many, many other opportunities to help our fellow citizens.

Our Squadron currently meets each Tuesday from 7-9PM.

We meet for training each week at Artic’s Air Academy at the Palmer Airport, just off of East Evergreen Road.
